The Process Behind Every KROMA Piece

SOLAR — aluminium wall artwork in warm, vibrant tones, KROMA collection

A standard print sits on top of its support. It eventually flakes, fades, or fails around moisture — because it never leaves the surface. That's not how a KROMA piece works.

An image infused, not printed

Every KROMA piece is made through thermal sublimation: ink is infused directly into the coating of the aluminium panel, not laid on top of it. The image becomes part of the panel itself. In practice, that means a surface unaffected by fingerprints, humidity, everyday cleaning products, or scratches — with no treatment or special cleaning required. The visual result gains depth too: a definition and colour relief that a surface print can't match.

Measured durability, not a marketing claim

The aluminium panel KROMA uses carries a 5+ year outdoor rating (ChromaLuxe): a durability figure established by the panel manufacturer, on vertically mounted panels under real-world conditions with direct sun exposure (tested in Florida). Confirmed resistances cover UV, humidity, abrasion, chemicals, flame, and graffiti. This isn't a KROMA commercial guarantee — it's a durability figure for the material itself, more precise than a simple marketing line.

A responsible material

The aluminium used is made from post-consumer recycled material, and remains 100% recyclable at the end of its life — consistent with a piece built to last, not to be replaced.

What is thermal sublimation?

A process that infuses ink directly into the coating of the aluminium panel, instead of laying it on the surface. The image becomes part of the panel itself.

Is KROMA aluminium guaranteed for 5 years outdoors?

It's not a commercial guarantee, but a 5+ year outdoor rating from the panel manufacturer (ChromaLuxe), established through real-world testing with direct sun exposure.

Is the material used environmentally friendly?

The aluminium is made from post-consumer recycled material, and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life.
